After a fun-filled, action-packed fourth day, the Gard Kitesurf World Cup
2007 competition once again came to a grinding halt coming into its fifth
day of event. Today, the sun was up which provided a mild weather condition
maintaining a 19 to 20 degrees Celsius of temperature, the only thing
missing was the wind.
As usual, most of the riders were seen hanging out at the riders lounge with
their laptops updating their personal websites or checking out the latest
photos and videos of the PKRA World Cup on the internet. The rest were seen
with their books and other reading materials and playing foosball while the
others took time out to bask in the sun. Several competitors pulled out
their equipment to pump out and let it dry out from yesterday’s soaking
day.
The competition was called off at 16:00h exactly before a late day
thunderstorm rolled in. After the thunderstorm, there was a noticeable
temperature drop, setting a cool Wednesday evening. The disc jockey from
N-JOY still provided some lively music, although there were only a couple of
people out on the beach because of the wet conditions. The wind forecast for
tomorrow is still bleak as it will probably be another no-wind event with
overcast skies in the morning to late afternoon but this weekend should
provide good wind for a grand finale. The mandatory skippers meeting is set
for 10:00am tomorrow with first possible start of 10:30am.
Be sure to catch the live free concert at the beach on Friday, 19:00h with
three bands performing powered by N-JOY THE BEACH party series, plus the
