“Directional Boards”
Plain and simple, Gaastra makes it easy for you to choose your new wave weapon. 2 Boards with very specific design criteria will cover all wave riding conditions. From mushy, medium sized waves around Europe to the big and powerful waves of Maui or South Africa, Gaastra has you covered. Waveriding in has come a long way and these two new boards follow the trend of riding the waves more like a surfer- with the drive and power generated from the wave rather than using too much power from the kite. This way you have more contact to the wave and it will give you the surf style feeling. No wonder our boards look exactly like surfboards these days. The Kite Surfboards are developed and tested in Cape Town by our international team, radical wave conditions make this a proving ground for the best boards on the water.

The 5’6” will deliver in any conditions where you want a compact but powerful board. In European waters with mostly onshore conditions this board will make it easy for you stay in contact with the wave and will help you to have fun in almost any conditions. With the newly developed kites on the market you will have all the abilities to ride the waves rather then generating the power from the kite. This board will work from the smallest wave up to 3m swell in almost any wind condition. Take the smallest possible kite and go surfing.
• Rounder outline for maximum maneuverability • Medium rocker gives you maximum power in gusty conditions • Square tail for a compact board feel and better turning at lower speed • Sharp box rails from the fins to the tail make it a more powerful board on the cut back for a faster release • Multiple strap position to trim the board for different rider weight | The 5’10” is your best friend in all side shore wind conditions. The board has got a slightly straightened outline and a rounded pintail for better control. As with the shorter 5’6” we have decided to go for a more powerful scoop rocker line to generate the power rather from the board then from your kite. The very balanced outline in conjunction with the faster rocker line will make it easy for you to control fast bottom turns and take the speed right to the top of the wave. Use speed to take off with a nice aerial and you will be able to land it in front of the waves without to much help from your kite. From shoulder high waves up to anything the ocean might throw at you, this will be the right board.
• Straighter outline for better control • Medium rocker will deliver effortless acceleration • Rounded pin tail for fast bottom turns • Sharp box rails from the fins to the tail make it a more powerful board on the cut back for a faster release • Multiple strap position to trim the board for different rider weight |
